Julio is filled with intense desire for Emilia, a fellow literature student. After a passionate period, the flame between the two lovebirds fades and Emilia moves on. Eight years later, based in Santiago, Julio is dating his next-door neighbor Blanca, but his first love still haunts him. Clinging to his aspirations of becoming a writer, he gets an interview for a job transcribing the latest work of renowned author Gazmuri. When he doesn’t get the job, Julio doesn’t want Blanca to know, so to save face, he writes his own novel, based on his tumultuous history with Emilia, letting Blanca believe the story of his former girlfriend is Gazmuri’s work.
