Gustavo Proto, 58, who has lived in Canada for years, is suffering from Alzheimer’s. He decides to end his life before he becomes a burden to his family. First though, he wants to return to the country where he was born, Chile, to achieve his dream of being a huaso—a Chilean cowboy. In doing so, the depressed man begins to enjoy life again, while his family is torn between respecting his wishes and confronting him with the burden he will place on those left behind.
