As new conflict breaks out between Israel and Lebanon, a small village in Galilee celebrates the marriage of patriarch Abu Majd’s granddaughter. But the Palestinian family’s reunion is not running smoothly. Hajar, Abu Majd’s youngest daughter, has returned from England, determined to get her family to accept her love for a British professor. Majd, the eldest son and the father of the bride, doesn’t know how to extricate himself from his financial problems. His brother Marwan, a doctor married to a Christian nurse, has just learned he’s sterile. Ahmad, the last son, a mayoral candidate trapped in a troubled marriage, is persuaded to defend the interests of the Israeli enemy. When a bomb explodes at the end of the wedding and Abu Majd falls into a coma, everyone’s secrets and resentments rise to the surface.
