In pursuit of a better life in Europe, 30 African men board a fishing vessel owned by fisherman Baye Laye. In exchange for a modest sum, Laye agrees to take them to Europe via the Canary Islands. Shortly after departure, Lansana, the organizer of the trip, finds a female stowaway, much to the chagrin of some passengers, who are convinced she’ll bring them bad luck. In fact, the journey will be marked by several dramatic events.
