Fresh out of prison where they bonded over their similar convictions for grand theft auto, Ordell (Yasiin Bey) and Louis (John Hawkes) have planned their next crime. They’re going to kidnap Mickey (Jennifer Aniston), the wife of Frank Dawson (Tim Robbins), a Detroit property developer and secret embezzler, and hold her for ransom. What they didn’t count on was that Frank has a young mistress, Melanie (Isla Fisher), whom he’s quite fond of, and he’s in no rush to rescue Mickey. The crooks force Mickey to help them and using her inside knowledge, they frantically devise a new plan. Based on the novel The Switch, by the late Elmore Leonard.
