Louise and Martine Fokkens are 69-year-old identical twins who have worked as prostitutes in Amsterdam’s red light district for over 50 years. Throughout their careers, they’ve helped establish the first trade union for prostitutes, escaped from their pimps and have even run their own brothel. Although the pair have been inseparable over the years, Louise has just had to retire because of her arthritis and is now trying to adjust to her new life. Meanwhile, Martine continues working the streets, unable to support herself on a pension. In Meet the Fokkens, Martine and Louise stroll around Amsterdam in matching outfits as they tell funny and ribald tales of stories that happened during their work.
