While her husband, Belisarius Beresford, promotes his new book “Secret Mission,” Prudence is bored. Worse, she’s depressed. Fortunately, on the advice of a friend, she decides to take control of her life and open a detective agency in Geneva. Soon, she finds her first case when a man about to marry a Russian heiress hires her to find his missing bride. Prudence enlists the help of Belisarius in her investigation as she focuses on the mysterious behavior of the patients and staff of the Phoenix clinic, an institution specializing in cosmetic surgery and rejuvenation technologies. She winds up on the trail of a mysterious scientist, who claims to hold the secret of eternal youth, but who has also disappeared.
