Divorced, middle-aged Richard Jones (Pierce Brosnan) is looking forward to a worry-free existence as he arrives at his office on his last day of work, having sold his company. Much to his dismay, he discovers that the management buyout of his company was fraudulent. With his company now bankrupt, the employee pension fund has been embezzled, wiping out his retirement fund. Richard enlists his ex-wife Kate (Emma Thompson) to help him track down the shady businessman behind the fraud. Soon, they’re caught up in a cat-and-mouse caper across Europe in a whirlwind of intrigue, mad chases and a jewelry theft that might restore Richard’s future — while rekindling his romance with Kate.
