Pompey’s wife Cornelia begs for Cesare to spare her husband’s life, but the leader of the Egyptian army enters, presenting Cesare with Pompey’s head.
Cesare’s assistant, Curio, who’s smitten with Cornelia, offers to avenge her, but she refuses. In Egypt, following a quarrel with her brother over who will take the throne, Cleopatra overhears a plan to have Cesare murdered. Encore performances June 1, 2013 and June 3, 2013
