Stockholm 1982. Three 13-year-old girls form a punk trio to vent their day-to-day adolescent problems. The film begins with two tomboyish middle-schoolers—Bobo (Mira Barkhammar) and Klara (Mira Grosin)—who establish a deep friendship as they bond over their embarrassing parents and school problems. They form a garage band, even though neither has obvious musical ability. The girls decide they need someone who has at least some musical knowledge, so Bobo recruits another classmate—skilled guitarist Hedvig (Liv LeMoyne)—after seeing her play at a school talent show. Impressed by their performances, their school music teachers offer them a spot at a Christmas concert.
